One time, someone told me that I am lucky that I have a job that I truly like. One that brings me financial stability, satisfaction and even friends. She wondered why every time that there is an opportunity , I seemed to be there... and then I remembered what Oprah said,
" I believe that luck is a preparation meeting opportunity. If you had'nt been prepared when the opportunity came along, you would'nt been lucky."
And then I remembered all the long nights of studying, all the hard work and even all the prayers....
Life is especially hard nowadays. Sometimes no matter how much you want to extend financial help to those who comes to you, it is kind of hard to help knowing that it will put a dent in your savings, but then Oprah said,
" I don't think you ever stop giving. I really don't .I think it's an on-going process.And it is not just being able to write a check. It is being able to touch somebody's life."
And then I remember the feeling of happiness , that joy that my heart feels everytime that I am able to help, no matter how small. I could'nt forget those smiles I received after helping someone.
Life is not perfect and sometimes I feel like "this is the only thing that I can do." I am sometimes discouraged in dreaming big. I feel limited but Oprah scolds me and says
"What God intended for you,goes far beyond anything you can imagine."
And then I feel so ashamed that I doubted my abilities. God made everyone so He would not make a second rate individual.
A friend once asked me how come she has not seen me looking depressed and down even during the most trying times, and there goes Oprah's words again who has always reminded me to..
"Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher."
Oh Oprah, you are truly one amazing woman.
