Cherished Possession

It is already late at night and I can hear the rustling of the leaves. It is just so peaceful and quite. A few minutes ago, I was surprised to see The big bother entered the room just to kiss his little brother goodnight. It is heartwarming to see this show of affection,it simply warms my heart and put a smile in my face. I always pray that they stay this way...

I am glad that when I was a child we were taught to be liberal with our affection, may it be physical ( bear hugs, kisses, pat on the back), verbal affection( words of affirmation-"you are wonderful", "you are special") and mental ( no words are needed, mere presence is enough).

My father taught us, me and my sister  never to let anyone in the family walk out the door without knowing they are special. This abundant love in the family is one of my cherished possessions and one that I want to pass on to my children and their children's children.
